Our Normal Race ball joints were based on the original open spherical ball joints used on the early touring cars in the UK by the Alfa Romeo Dealer Team and feature a tapered pin to fit the the standard upright. These were carefully set to length to give more rising rate camber and effect a positive change to the front roll centre. However these are not really practical for a rally car where they are more exposed to dirt and debris.
We have looked at the original Autodelta ball joints used on the period rally cars and made a few practical alterations. The bearing has been increased in size to match our race version and both a steel top cap and rubber boot added to seal the bearing from the elements.
You get the same performance upgrade of our race joint , just sealed for the road.
